Douglas Brooks has a BS/EE and an MS/EE from Stanford and a PhD from the
University of Washington.
He started his career as an electronics design engineer on the Surveyor Spacecraft Program at Hughes Aircraft Co. He then began a career in marketing that led to Vice President, General Manager, and President of such companies as LODEC, Inc., Kistler-Morse, ELDEC, and Bourns, Inc. He has been active in numerous trade associations, has sat as an outside board member for several companies, trade associations, and a retirement community, and is an Elder in the Presbyterian church. He has had regular monthly columns in several trade association publications over the years, and has been a featured speaker at seminars all over the world, including Moscow, China, Taiwan, Japan, Israel, Canada, and Melbourne. His primary focus has been on making complex technical issues easily understood by those without advanced degrees.
Brooks has published two books on signal integrity topics and recently
published “PCB Trace and Via Temperatures: The Complete Analysis, 2nd Edition,”
with Johannes Adam in 2017. His latest booklet is "PCB Trace Current/Temperature
Curves, 1/4 Oz. to 5.0 Oz., The Complete Set."
Brooks is now retired and lives with his wife of over 50 years in
Issaquah, WA.
