Differential Impedance Calculator
Versions prior to 3.0
Versions of UltraCAD's Differential Calculator prior to version 3.0 required a license dongle to operate. Beginning with version 3.0, a license file is substituted for the dongle. These changes are not backward compatible. That is, version 2.2 of the calculator does not work with a license file and version 3.0 (and later) does not work with a dongle.
If you already have a license dongle and have lost any of the files that go with it, you can download them from this page.

| Special notes for VISTA Users |

1. The older dongle system file installation procedure for UCCALC did not work in Vista. (Those files are supplied to us by the dongle manufacturer.) A new procedure was introduced with Version 2.2. That procedure is much simpler and is backward compatible with previous versions of the calculator. See the Licensing section in the Operators Manual for complete information. |

2. Vista does not natively support the older help file format (*.hlp). There is an update for Vista that does support the older help file formats. Vista will guide you to it on the Microsoft web site when you try to open a *.hlp file. Or..... you can download the file update from here and run it on your Vista machine. Download helpfileupdate.zip and unzip it to obtain Windows6.0-KB917607-x86.msu. Execute that file on your Vista machine. |
This calculator, and the USB license dongle, are designed to run on Windows 98/ME/2K/XP/VISTA/Win7. The freeware version will run on WINNT, but NT was not designed to recognize USB devices, so it is not likely you can make the dongle work on NT. We do not support NT installations.
The dongle requires a free USB port.
